Bath City Football Club has come up with an innovative way to increase revenue at their stadium.

The Romans are giving fans, businesses and even the general public the chance to pick a new name for their historic home at Twerton Park for just £50. Entrants must buy a special four-ticket package for the home match against Forest Green Rovers on 9 April with the draw taking place at half time.

The lucky winner will get to pick a new name for the venue for the entire 2012/13 season.

It is hoped the funds raised will help give the Blue Square Premier club a boost during a tough economic time. A club spokesman said: “Entrants are encouraged to be creative when it comes to choosing a name, however fans are perfectly entitled to enter the draw with the name ‘Twerton Park’ if they prefer it not to change.”

Bath City have stated that they also reserve the right to reject any name deemed inappropriate.
