Colchester United Football Club has implemented a new hospitality and retail system in its stadium.
Stadium software specialists Agilysys secured the contract to install the new system at the club's Weston Homes Community Stadium.
The 10,064-seater stadium, opened in 2008 costing £14 million to build. This latest development is part of the club's long-term ambition for further growth.
The club expects the new sales system to not only generate extra income but also save money through efficiency, cutting down on waste.
United Chairman, Robbie Cowling said: “We wanted a proven, hospitality software partner with fantastic knowledge of how stadia and arena work in small and large environments, to accommodate our plans today and our strategy for the years to come.”
The club hope the new touch screen tills will deliver faster and more efficient sales leading to a higher spend per head within the stadium.
Agilysys has installed a total of 50 terminals throughout the venue, which will all offer specific reporting to help improve efficiency and overall service.
Tina Stehle, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Agilysys Hospitality Solutions Group said: “We were easily able to demonstrate our credentials to Colchester United FC.
“Our knowledge and experience in the stadia sector were key to them, and our proven POS solutions for hospitality and retail enabled them to select Agilysys with confidence.”
The new system is also expected to improve the conference and banqueting facilities which consists of restaurants, executive boxes and suites offering corporate hospitality for up to 600 guests.
