Everton Football Club has been nominated in the Stadium Business Awards 2010.

The Toffees’ stadium department are up for the 'unsung hero' award for their behind the scenes work at Goodison Park.

Head of stadium operations at Everton, Alan Bowen, said: "We are delighted to have been nominated for this prestigious award, which recognises the hard work undertaken by all the stadium staff at Goodison Park."

The new awards are the first to recognise achievements in the stadium industry, covering all aspects of the international stadium and sports venue sector including individual staff, events and venues.

The winners will be announced during the Stadium Business Summit at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin on 17th June 2010.

There were almost 1,000 nominations in all categories and Everton's stadium team will be up against Real Madrid groundsman Paul Burgess and Paula Street from caterers Lindley Group.

The eventual winners will be decided by an independent panel of industry figures.
