Seattle Seahawks fans broke a Guinness World Record for the loudest stadium in sports history during Sunday's 29-3 win over NFC West rivals San Francisco 49ers.
The nicknamed 12th man registered a 136.6 decibel reading during a third-quarter goal-line stand at CenturyLink Field, beating the previous record, which was held by Turkish football club Galatasaray, by almost five decibels.
Guinness judge Phil Robertson told the Seattle Times: "It's a far louder, tribal kind of passion. The sound is more continuous.
"There are passionate people in soccer, but here you see veins bulging out of necks."
