Michigan State University is set to give a $20 million renovation to their Spartan Stadium the go ahead.

The construction is expected to gain final approval in June and, if that happens, athletic director Mark Hollis says construction is expected to begin and work on the project could wrap up in May 2014.

The stadium work is expected to be funded by $14 million in donations and $6 million of MSU athletic department funds.

The plan calls for a two-level building at the stadium's north end, including locker rooms, an equipment room and a media center. Restrooms and concession stands, as well as a recruiting room for sports, also are planned as part of the project.
