AFC WIMBLEDON SUBMIT PLOUGH LANE PROPOSAL

AFC Wimbledon could return to Plough Lane after the Sky Bet League 2 club submitted a proposal to redevelop the Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium.

The Dons hope to build an 11,000-capacity venue, with a view of expansion to 20,000 at a later date.

There are also proposals to build 600 homes at the Plough Lane site, which is where the original Wimbledon FC played before they were forced to leave in 1991.

Their current home is the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
