The 2014 FIFA World Cup venue in Sao Paulo will include the world's biggest LED stadium panel.
Siemens subsidiary Osram, the company behind the initiative, has said the Arena Corinthians will have an LED panel on the outside of the stadium measuring 170 metres wide and 20 metres high. The panel will be capable of displaying images, detailing scores and playing videos.
CEO of the general lighting division at Osram Klaus-Gunter Vennemann, said: “In Sao Paulo, Osram is once again proving its expertise when it comes to lighting for sports venues. We have not let ourselves be intimidated by FIFA’s strict requirements. On the contrary, our high-tech lighting solutions exceed the specifications by far.”
The 65,800-capacity Arena Corinthians is scheduled to host six World Cup games in 2014 including the opening ceremony and a semi-final match.
