Following the confirmation of their promotion from npower League 1, Bournemouth have revealed they plan to expand their stadium ahead of next season.
Their three-sided Goldsands Stadium currently holds just over 10,000 and was renovated as recently as 2001 but chairman Eddie Mitchell revealed they plan to erect a new 4,000-seat stand prior to the start of their Championship campaign.
“Our main aim is to get another 3-4000 in the stadium," Mitchell said.
"I would like to think there is every chance to get it ready for the start of the season. We just want to get it done.
"We want to replicate the North Stand. To take it on further we will need different planning permissions, which takes time.”
