BRENTFORD ISSUE RALLYING CALL FOR STADIUM SUPPORT

Brentford have urged fans to contact Hounslow Council in a bid to step up support for their new stadium.

Deadline day on a proposed move to Lionel Road is fewer than two weeks away, and the club wants its fans to email or write to the council in favour of the relocation.

The local authority’s planning committee meets on Thursday 5th December for a yes or no vote on the scheme.

In excess of 1,000 Bees fans have written to advocate the application, which is matched by a similar number of objections, particularly from residents living in Kew and Chiswick.

Griffin Park has been home to the West London side since 1904, but a move to Lionel Road –  one mile away - has been in the offing since 2002.
