Newly-promoted Cardiff City have put forward a formal planning application for their proposed stadium development.
The Cardiff City Stadium has plans to have the capacity increased from 26,828 to approximately 33,000, which would make the venue the 12th biggest stadium in this year's Premier League.
It is believed that the plans include adding a second tier to the Ninian Stand, which will provide 5,000 extra seats in addition to creating more commercial and hospitality opportunities for the club.
Bluebirds director Steve Borley said the plans were matching billionaire owner Vincent Tan's commitment to see the capacity grow in line with his ambitions.
