Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi owners have detailed plans to increase the size of the Etihad Stadium to 60,000.

Plans include adding a third tier to the ground, and that will in theory make it the third largest in the Premier League.

The owners have reiterated that these plans will only occur when they can be sure that they will fill it, with a final decision due to be taken by next April.

The ground currently holds 47,805, which is currently the fifth largest in the Premier League but significantly smaller than rivals Manchester United, who can accommodate 75,765 fans at Old Trafford.
