Artists’ impressions of a new stadium for Coventry City have been published, although the proposed location of the venue is being kept secret.

The Sky Blues will create a 12,500-seater stadium as part of the initial phase, with the capacity ultimately able to increase to 23,000.

However, the questions of where and when the build will take place, and how long the process will take, are yet to be answered.

The club has said the stadium would not be in the city, but they are talking to two local authorities about potential land ‘close to’ Coventry.

The Sky Bet League 1 side have relocated to Northampton, 34 miles away, to play their home games at the Sixfields Stadium for the 2013/14 season, after walking out of their former home at the Ricoh Arena in a row over rent.

Before those eight years at the Ricoh, City were based at Highfield Road for 106 years.
