Scottish Championship outfit Dumbarton have revealed their plans for a new 4,000-seater stadium.

More than 200 residents of the local area visited the Castle Road club in early November to hear proposals for their desired relocation.

The ground, which is set to have facilities such as an all-weather pitch open for community use, is due to be built on Young’s Farm land.

The club are currently based at The Bet Butler Stadium, which holds a capacity crowd of just over 2,000.

Gilbert Lawrie, chief executive at Dumbarton said: “We hope we’ll have the majority of good feedback but we know we’ll not be able to please everyone.

“We have a lot of fans who have grown up with this stadium and do not want to move. But we do have to move on in terms of what we want to achieve to help make the club the best it can be.”
