Ebbsfleet United have revealed plans for a multi-million-pound redevelopment of their Stonebridge Road home.

The club are set to spend £3.5million on revamping the venue’s main stand, and the overall construction cost of the ground could reach as high as £8m.

The plans wills see the capacity of the stadium rise from around 4,000 to 6,000, and proposals have been submitted to the local council with a decision expected in April this year.

Ebbsfleet United vice chairman Peter Varney said:  "It's very important that we have got a stadium that attracts people to come in.

"The truth is at the moment it's a much older stadium, over a hundred years old, and we need something for the modern football fan, and that's what we're building."
