FALCONS STADIUM PLANS HIT SNAG

NFL franchise Atlanta Falcons have been unable to purchase land needed for a planned new stadium.

The venue, due to hold 70,000 and reportedly costing up to $1 billion, requires land to be purchased from the Mount Vernon Baptist Church in order for contraction to take place.

Recent developments are likely to push back their proposed completion date of 2017, and the NFC South team have already begun a feasibility study of an alternate site, north of the Georgia Dome.
