Phil Babb, manager of Conference South side Hayes and Yeading United, has urged the club's supporters to remain calm despite the news that the Sharda Glass Stadium won't be ready for the upcoming season.

It was hoped that the new ground, based in Beaconsfield Road, would be ready for the 2013/14 season, but the club have revealed that isn't the case and they will begin the new campaign at Woking's Kingfield Stadium, where they have played for the last two seasons, while work continues.

Babb, a former Liverpool defender who took over as manager of the club in May, said: “Unfortunately the first game won't be at the Sharda Glass but the Woking pitch will certainly suit us.

“Of course it would be great to start the season at the Sharda Glass but we're not going to let it become a distraction for us.”
