LINCOLN CITY CONSIDER SPORTS VILLAGE FOR NEW STADIUM

Lincoln City chairman Bob Dorrian has revealed that the club could look to a sports village model for their proposed new stadium.

Dorrian announced at the club’s annual general meeting that one proposal made during discussions with the City Council was to develop a site which included more sports that football.

“It’s a project, it’s an idea that has been floated and well received. Whether it will get off the ground is something I could not say,” he said.

“The stadium will go ahead, whatever. There is a site waiting for us. I hope that by the end of March we will learn what the results are [of the soil tests].”

The Imps have been pursuing a move away from Sincil Bank, their home since 1895, for more than three years.
