LONDON BRONCOS AGREE GROUNDSHARE WITH BARNET

Super League team London Broncos will play their home matches in 2014 and 2015 at The Hive, home of Barnet Football Club.

The two-year agreement between the teams will also see the Broncos train at the non-league outfit’s former ground, Underhill

The 5,176-capacity ground in Edgware is in its first season of use for Conference Premier side Barnet, whose chairman – Tony Kleanthous – is excited by the partnership.

Kleanthous said: “We are delighted to welcome the London Broncos into our family at The Hive.

“We hope to work together to grow the participation and support of rugby league in North London.”

Since being bought by Australian side Brisbane Broncos in 1994, the London team have played at Charlton’s The Valley, and more recently competed at The Stoop, home of rugby union side Harlequins.

They left the Twickenham-based ground at the end of last season and faced possible administration, but can now fulfil their fixtures for the coming campaign.
