LONDON IRISH DENY RELOCATION RUMOURS

Aviva Premiership rugby team London Irish have denied they are seeking a move away from the Madejski Stadium.

The Exiles have been playing at the stadium, which is home to Reading Football Club, since 2000 but rumours have circulated that they were looking to re-locate.

Griffin Park, home of Brentford Football Club, has been reported as a potential new home, but a London Irish spokesman said: “There's no truth in that.

“We have a contract with the Madejski Stadium until 2026, and that's how it will remain. That's where we'll continue to play."

The club had an average gate of 9.471 at the 24,161-seater Madejski last season.
