LONDON WASPS IN £30M BID FOR RICOH ARENA

London Wasps are expected to confirm plans to move to Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.

The club currently play their home matches at Adams Park in Wycombe, but have been seeking a new venue to secure its long-term future.

The Ricoh has recently been taken back by Coventry City, but a ground share alongside Wasps is now likely as of next season.

The West London club have been in talks with Arena Coventry Limited - the company that owns the venue - for some time, and could now take as much as a 90 per cent share in the business worth £30million.

The Ricoh has never seen regular rugby, with the stadium recently missing out on selection to stage games for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Wasps have appeared at the venue on a few occasions however; most famously when they met Northampton Saints in the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup back in 2007, a tournament they later went on to win.
