LUTON TOWN RENAME KENILWORTH ROAD FOR CHARITY

Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road stadium will be renamed the Prostate Cancer UK Stadium for one match in support of the charity.

The 10,000 capacity of the ground, which reflects the number of men who die from the condition every year in the UK, will be renamed for the Hatters’ Sky Bet League 2 clash with Wycombe Wanderers on 24 March.

In what is believed to be a first for a Football League team, Luton chief executive Gary Sweet said the club was “extremely proud”.

“When we first hinted at the idea we were met with a mixed reaction, which is understandable with the amount of affection our supporters hold for the ground,” Sweet added.

Around 300,000 men in the UK are currently living with prostate cancer.
