Manchester City have been granted planning permission to expand their Etihad Stadium capacity by almost 15,000 seats.
The venue, which currently has a capacity of 47,670, will soon be able to accomodate over 60,000 supporters as a result of the expansion.
The addition of 6,250 seats at either end of the ground, plus up to 2,000 seats around the pitch, will make the Etihad the second-largest stadium in the Premier League.
Manchester United's Old Trafford remains the largest with a capacity of over 75,000, but Arsenal's Emirates Stadium will be relegated to third.
It is the second development project undertaken by the rich Citizens in quick succession, having built a £200 million City Football Academy adjacent to the stadium.
