The National Hockey League have announced that the Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Chicago Blackhawks at Soldier Field on 1st March 2014.
The fixture is one of the six outdoor games in 2014, which includes the 1st January Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs.
It will be the third recent outdoor game for the Penguins and second for the Blackhawks. The 2009 Winter Classic was at Chicago's Wrigley Field.
NHLPA representative Mathieu Schneider said: "Returning hockey to where it originated, in the cold elements of an outdoor rink, by playing at Soldier Field in Chicago will no doubt be a game the players will have circled on next season's schedule.
"This will be a great event for hockey fans in Chicago and Pittsburgh, and one that they won't soon forget."
