Redevelopment work on Northampton Town’s Sixfields Stadium will begin on Friday with a groundbreaking ceremony.
In a joint venture between the football club, Northampton Borough Council and The County Group, the capacity of the ground will extend from 7,600 to 10,000 with a new East Stand and an updated West Stand.
New houses, shops, a 100-bedroom hotel and a conference facility will also sit on the 33-acre site.
David Cardoza, chairman of Northampton Town, said it was a "momentous day" for the club.
