NOTRE DAME EXPLORE REDEVELOPMENT

The University of Notre Dame are exploring the possibility of redeveloping their Notre Dame Stadium - also known as The House that Rockne Built.

University officials have announced they will look into how the Notre Dame Stadium, which is used fewer than 10 times a year for football games, commencement and recreational events, could be better used.

The school is looking at adding buildings to the stadium that could house a conference centre with classrooms and meeting spaces, a media centre, a visitors' centre among other purpose built spaces. They could also include around 3,000 new seats to watch games.

Officials have said the cost of the project will not be known until plans are revised and finalised, and have said the study into the possible benefits will take six to nine months.
