Proposals for a new stadium in Cornwall have been announced, although a planning application is yet to be submitted.

Greenside Real Estate Solutions wants to build a sports stadium, retail and leisure park at Indian Queens, 12 miles outside of Truro.

Rugby club Cornish Pirates and football team Truro City could move to the new venue.

"We are well aware of the need of a stadium for Cornwall and that previous proposals have not progressed,” said Malcolm Lea from Greenside.

"We believe that the site [Indian Queens] is the ideal location for the stadium, being easily accessible to a large part of the county by both road and rail."

Rival company Inox saw plans to build a 10,000-seat stadium on the outskirts of Truro approved in 2013, but are yet to comment on these new plans.
