PLYMOUTH'S PLANS GIVEN GREEN LIGHT

Plymouth Argyle's plans for a £50million redevelopment of Home Park have been given the green light by the city council.

The lavish plans include a new grandstand at the stadium, a hotel and, more interestingly, a 10-screen cinema and ice rink

The Akkeron Group, who took over the club in 2011, say the development will create 1,000 new jobs but, at a planning meeting, critics cited car parking and construction waste as potential issues.

The club has stated work could commence in September and be finished in 2015.
