POMPEY CASH INJECTION TO IMPROVE FRATTON PARK

Portsmouth have received a cash injection of £500,000, which is likely to be spent on improvements at their iconic Fratton Park home.

The League 2 out received the sum from their 11 presidents, who own 48% of the club.

The money will help with urgent ground improvements, which could see the capacity at Fratton Park return to 20,000.

Pompey Supporters' Trust board member John Kimbell said: "We want to get as many people inside Fratton Park.

"While we are not selling out at the moment, we hope that as soon as we start seeing an improvement on the pitch those attendances will go up.

"We've got some big games coming up and every seat is important."
