Real Madrid’s iconic Bernabeu Stadium is set to be renamed as the Abu Dhabi Bernabeu.
Abu Dhabi-owned company The International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) signed a 20-year agreement with the Spanish giants at the end of 2014, which includes naming rights for the venue.
Coca Cola and Microsoft were also thought to be interested in a potential deal to rename the Bernabeu, but the IPIC look to have won the race.
There is currently a legal battle taking place over the proposed £375million redevelopment of the ground and no name changes will occur until it is resolved.
Overall, the Abu Dhabi investment deal is set to reach up to £300million, which will help see the Bernabeu revamped and ultimately renamed.
