One of the largest 2014 FIFA World Cup venues is almost complete and will 100 per cent be ready for the tournament.
The Itaquerao Stadium, home to Brazilian First Division side Corinthians, is now said to be over 80 per cent complete, following initial concerns the ground would not be completed on time.
With a capacity of 65,000 seats the arena is one of the largest world cup venues, and will host six matches during the tournament. These include the opening game, and a semi-final.
The news comes as FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke gave Brazilian authorities an ultimatum, saying that any stadium not match ready by December 31st would be taken off the match schedule.
