Scunthorpe United have released the details of their planning permission application for a new stadium.

The document outlines plans for a 12,000-seater venue due to be built on the Lincolnshire Lakes development by May 2016.

The proposal also lists cafes, a gymnasium, offices and an outdoor football pitch in the vicinity of the stadium, which would form a brand new commercial park a short distance away from their current home Glanford Park.

The land for the proposed facility is currently an agricultural site, and club chairman Peter Swann is hopeful that construction work will start by April.

North Lincolnshire Council planners will make a final decision on the project in the coming weeks, but comments from the general public are welcome until 30th January 2015.
