TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR CONSIDER NEW STADIUM OPTIONS FOR POSSIBLE NFL SHARE

Tottenham Hostpur’s new £400 million redevelopment of White Hart Lane could include a retractable grass pitch to further boost the chances of hosting a new American football team.

A synthetic surface, which could be used for National Football League games, would lie underneath the grass pitch – artificial grass being the preferred option of NFL players who say that the turf cuts up too easily.

Another aspect of Spurs’ plans would see the building of larger changing rooms to accommodate the coaching staff, equipment and large playing squads of NFL franchises.

NFL games have been staged in London since 2007, but the League’s commissioner has previously said an English franchise could happen within 10 years.

The revelopment of White Hart Lane is due to be completed in time for the 2018/19 season, after an ongoing situation with a local company situated near the stadium.
