UEFA have announced that either London's Wembley Stadium or Munich's Allianz Arena will host the final and semi-finals of Euro 2020.
The tournament is due to be held across several European countries rather than a single nation, but UEFA have already decided that the final stages will be awarded to either England or Germany.
Both countries are also bidding for one of 12 packages to host three group-stage matches plus a single knock-
out game from the last-16 or quarter-finals.
England last hosted the international tournament - which is expanding from 16 to 24 teams in 2020 - in 1996, while Euro 1988 was held in what was then West Germany.
In a statement, President Michel Platini said: "Member associations will benefit greatly from this format, since more of them will be exposed to an elite tournament and have the opportunity to increase the development of football in their respective countries."
