Antrim chairman Jim Murray has promised to build a “fantastic stadium” for fans of the Gaelic Football side.
Work begins early next week on the Belfast venue with the aim of hosting Ulster championship semi-finals and finals once the 40,000-capacity venue is reopened.
The project, which will make Casement Park the largest stadium in the Ulster region, is expected to be completed in September 2015 costing an estimated £138m.
The GAA will also provide £15 million for the redevelopment, with the Ulster division making the stadium their headquarters once the renovations are complete.
