WORK WILL SOON BEGIN ON PERTH STADIUM’S NEW $100m TRAIN STATION

Work on Perth Stadium’s $100 million train station will begin within months after the state government awarded the construction tender.

Laing O’Rourke and AECOM will deliver the project that will bring fans directly to the city’s new sporting complex, with an expected finish date of late 2017.

That will allow testing on the six-platform station to be undertaken ahead of the 2018 AFL season.

Transport Minister Dean Nalder said: “The station is a vital part of the new Perth Stadium project and will enable up to 28,000 passengers to depart the stadium within an hour of an event.”
