The Yankee Stadium will play host to two soccer games during this summer as Spain, Ireland, Manchester City and Chelsea descend upon New York City.
First up, World and European champions Spain, in preparation for the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil, will play an exhibition game against Ireland on June 11th at the home of the New York Yankees.
And, on May 25th, the 2012 Premier League champions Manchester City will play the 2012 UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea, two days after the two meet at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
City have toured North America in two of the last three years in an attempt to boost the club's profile in the region.
The new Yankee Stadium opened in 2009 and staged its first two soccer matches last summer, when Chelsea drew with Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 and Real Madrid defeated AC Milan 5-1.
